When I was 26 I started painting as a release from the stress of the world around me. For 2 years I immersed myself in creating pictures of places I had never been but wanted to visit someday. When I turned 28 God took me on a journey from Indiana to Oregon, by way of Colorado and Arizona and half a dozen other states. At the time I didn't know Jesus but He knew me. On this journey I was able to see many of the places I had painted and I found that God is the most amazing artist.
The Journey took a break in a small town in the mountains of south-central Oregon's high desert. The town was Sprague River, OR. It is a very remote place far removed from the busy life I once knew in Indianapolis, but Sprague River was full of God's people. They greeted me with love and made me feel like part of their family almost instantly. I lived on 20 acres of woods at the end of a dirt road. There was a wonderful mountain spring that rolled down the hill that provided ice cold water all year 'round. In this secluded mountain paradise I experienced the love and joy of Jesus Christ. He reached out to me through His people and brought me home to Him.
Many journeys has God taken me on since then. From Oregon to Georgia to Tennessee and now back to Indiana, He has shared many of His amazing paintings with me; and now I am just trying to share some impression of them with you.
